Chittaranjan

Chittaranjan --- It is the railway station serving the city of Chittaranjan in Bardhaman district of WB. But the station is located in Mihijam, which is in Jharkhand. The station is connected to the Delhi-Howrah mainline via Mugalsarai-Patna route. The town is named after the Indian freedom fighter, Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das. At first the name of the station was Mihijam. But when the Chittaranjan Locomotive Works established at Chittaranjan, the station's name was change to Chittaranjan station. There are a total of 3 platforms with stoppage of around 120 trains. Station code - CRJ.
