SPIC - 19901 'Parakh' (SWR)

An inspection coach is usually hauled by a locomotive – electric or diesel, which is not only a costly method but also involves a lot of turnaround time in the process of loco reversal. Thus in a step to save crucial resources, the national transporter has for the first time rolled out a fully air-conditioned self-propelled inspection car.

These SPICs comes with stainless steel body coach & aerodynamically profiled driving cab at both ends. These are fully air-conditioned car, including driving cab, with a seating capacity for 32 persons and soothing interiors panelled with aluminium composite material with screwless finish, Halogen-free silicon rubber flooring, along with direct and indirect LED lighting. Each SPIC is equipped with 340 hp underslung Diesel-Electric power pack for propulsion & 40 KVA underslung alternator set for air-conditioning and powering the light & fans with one RMPU for entire coach & ultra capacitor. Other key features includes external CCTV camera and LED display on driver desk along with Onboard Wi-fi for better communications. These cars also comes with Vacuum assisted touch-free bio-toilet and a swanky pantry equipped with refrigerator, vending machine & micro-wave.
