YDM1R-6002 (1955)

Built by North British Locomotive Works in 1955. These were among the first MG main-line diesels. They were initially meant for goods haulage on western railway lines where there was scarcity of water for steam locos. Later transferred to SCR. During 1975-76 Chittaranjan Locomotive Works replaced the engines on these with Maybach engines. Western Railway phased out these locos around 1990s.
