AK - 6 'Raj Nandini'

AK-6 'Raj Nandini' --- Actually a Delta class locomotive use to run in Azimgunj-Katwa line thus it was re-classified as AK-6. Built by W. G. Bagnall & Co. Stafford, UK in the year in 1914 , this 2 ft 6 inches gauge 0-6-4 locomotive, with a max speed of 35 kmph & 70 ton hauling capacity, used to generate 360 hp & was heavily used in Azimgunj-Katwa section of EIR. Currently plinthed outside Howrah Station & christened as Raj Nandini. Photographed by Somsubhra Das. D.O.P. - 9th May 2010.
